Tahvia Jenkins is an associate with Athene. Prior to joining the firm, Tahvia was assistant counsel at the University of California's Office of the President (UCOP).  There, Tahvia was a member of the Office of the General Counsel Health Affairs, Data Privacy, and Protection team, and advised the UCOP UC Health division, the University's medical centers, and health professional schools on a variety of state privacy, compliance, and health care regulatory matters. Before working with UCOP, Tahvia worked as a privacy attorney at Iovance Biotherapeutics, Inc.

Tahvia drafts privacy policies, organizes vendor compliance programs, and advises on matters related to Gender Affirming Care and Reproductive Health. Tahvia also advises on Medicare and Med-Cal reimbursement, including matters related to: CMS and Medicare enrollment, revocations, and appeals; the 340B Program; the No Surprises Act; Hospital Transparency Rules; and the Knox Keene Act. She also advises on healthcare fraud and abuse laws and regulations, and health science educational affairs.

Education

Tahvia received her B.S. from DePaul University, where she majored in health sciences and concentrated in health policy and administration. She also holds a J.D. from Drexel University, where she completed the requirements for Drexel’s health law concentration. Tahvia is also a Certified Information Privacy Professional, certified by the International Association of Privacy Professionals.

Tahvia is a member and contributor to the American Health Law Association. Tahvia is also a member of the California Society of Healthcare Attorneys, the American Bar Association, and the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
